Alex Banh is a technology and equity leader with experience in public service and nonprofit management. In his current role as Deputy Director of the Asian Youth Center, he oversees programs, operations, and technology for a community-based nonprofit serving low-income, immigrant, and at-risk youth and families. Previously, he served as Digital Equity Manager for the City and County of San Francisco, where he created and led a citywide initiative to bridge the digital divide in terms of both Internet and technology access and digital skills.

Alex is committed leveraging technology to empower individuals and communities. Prior to working at the City, he led the Asia Foundation’s global IT team, overseeing IT projects and training programs for the organization’s local staff and partners throughout developing Asia. He also previously co-managed San Francisco’s federal Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) grant at the Department of Technology, funding a variety of digital skills programs for audiences from youth to seniors.
