Carl is the sole owner of IT Assurance, Incorporated (ITA) – a technology management, security and audit consulting company based in Sacramento. ITA provides advisory and staff augmentation services in support of a wide range of IT and related efforts including Project Management, Audit, Governance, Security, Privacy, Architecture and Regulatory Compliance (including Sarbanes Oxley, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Gramm-Leach Bliley, Payment Card Industry, and more).

Carl started his career in Information Technology with the State of California in the summer of 1989. Over his 13+ year career in the State of California Carl has served as an Information Security Auditor, Information Systems Security Officer, a Data Processing Manager, and a Programmer for a variety of agencies. After leaving the state Carl has worked for publicly held (Computer Task Group) and privately help (KPMG) companies as well as managing his own consulting practice for the last 13 years.
