Pratik has been working in the Information Security space for 12+ years now. He has worked both in the private sector at companies such as Venafi, Intuit, VMware, FireEye, etc. as well as in academia (Purdue University’s Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS)). He brings experience in the areas of Application Security, Security Operations, Incident Response, Compliance Assessments, Vulnerability Management, Security Responsible Disclosure, Penetration Testing, Malware Analysis and Risk Management.

Pratik currently leads the R&D Product Security area at Venafi, Inc. involved with both securing its on-premise offering as well as SaaS offering. Before joining Venafi, Pratik led Security Incident Response as well as the Corporate and Cloud Vulnerability Management program at FireEye. He also established their Responsible Disclosure Program as well as Corporate Information Security Policy Development. Prior to FireEye, he was involved with coordinating and executing a portfolio of client engagements involving Security Vulnerability Assessments and Pen. Testing (Internal and External), Social Engineering, IT Risk Assessments, PCI Compliance and IT General Controls audits (Security Controls testing). At VMware, he established the Threat Intelligence function for the Global InfoSec group. As part of that role, he also served as a Trusted Advisor to VMware’s partners – EMC, RSA and AirWatch.

Pratik has been affiliated with a number of professional security-focused groups such as IAPP, ISACA, ISSA – Silicon Valley, Cloud Security Alliance, CERIAS, Electronic Frontier Foundation as well as has been active in participating/attending RSA, BSides, SecureWorld, DEFCON, BlackHat and other security-focused conferences/gatherings.
