Steve Shearer is octoScope’s chief scientist. Prior to octoScope, he was a distinguished engineer at Wi-Fi Alliance where he led the Industry wide LTE/Wi-Fi Coexistence activities. Steve worked at Philips on terrestrial radio systems such as TETRA, GSM, TDMA and CDMA where he was involved in R&D and standards activities.
He helped architect the Philips UWB radio, contributed the OFDM PHY into IEEE 802.15.4g and worked on smart grid at Silver Spring Networks. Steve received his BSc. from University of Kwa Zulu Natal, his M.S. from Georgia Tech, and holds 12 patents.
