Doug has more than 35 years of progressively responsible experience directing as many as 1,000 employees in businesses with revenues in excess of $100 million. Doug led a number of businesses through start-up, survival, turnaround and growth modes, as well as exits through sale and IPO. He has also successfully raised funds for companies from angels, Venture Capital, Private Equity, public offerings and non-dilutive government grants.
His leadership positions include serving as CEO of a Defense communications and software company, CEO of an emergency power generation system manufacturer, and CEO of a business-consulting group. In addition, he served as GM of a $100M Business Unit of a Fortune 500 Engineering Services Company serving the aerospace and defense sectors: designing and fielding satellite communications and large data systems.
Doug is an Angel Investor and Partner at Syndicate708, a mentor and advisor to a portfolio of early-stage deep tech companies, a member of Tech Coast Angels, Wharton Alumni Angel Network, and was CEO of LightSpeed Innovations an accelerator for technology startups in the aerospace and defense industries. Doug holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from National University and well earned an Ph.D. from the University of Hard Knocks.
