Senior Systems Architecture Engineer
T-Mobile
My name is Timur Kochiev. Currently I am a Senior Systems Architecture Engineer at T-Mobile, Irvine CA. While working at T-Mobile, I lead proof-of-concept test trials and advanced 5G technology studies including research and development activities involving Radio Access Network, Device, Cloud, Digital Security, and various other cross-functional teams and vendors. I have submitted several patents while working at T-Mobile. I established company-wide adopted innovative test tools and applications for internal teams saving company millions in CapEx dollars. I progressively continue to utilize internal T-Mobile mobile edge potential. I am an avid Python tool developer and I enjoy employing Machine Learning and Data Science for building insightful pre-launch executive studies and predictive models.
My previous experience was with Nokia and former Alcatel-Lucent where I supported various 4G lab trials at AT&T Mobility Lab in Redmond, WA. I also worked at Samsung Electro-Mechanics in South Korea as a Senior Research Engineer at the Wireless Solutions Lab.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Virginia and M.S. in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia. During my Ph.D. studies I analyzed multi-antenna and multi-user wireless communication systems using Convex Optimization methods and Monte-Carlo simulations in MATLAB, which was reflected in several publications.
I am married with two boys. We enjoy parks and outdoors.
