Christina Van Houten

United States Coast Guard
Information Systems Technician

Area of Expertise
Cross-functional collaboration in international teams. Working in the United States Coast Guard in a highly technical field is a very male-dominated arena to navigate. My skills and experience can guide other women in technology or other male-dominated fields. I look forward to sharing my feedback and ideas.

Hello, my name is Christina Van Houten. I have an extensive network, server, and telephony administration, installation, and maintenance background. I have also edited and created technical policies and manuals to save time and effort for field technicians. I managed and maintained IT services for different military branches and specialized in emergency network setup and data recovery.

I earned an Achievement Medal during my time there for managing a large-scale network upgrade, creating new solutions for the enterprise-level operating system and software deployment, and being a key player in a massive hardware upgrade.

Simultaneously while working on my career, I also attended college and earned many academic achievements to better leverage my skills and experience.
