As Chief Strategy Officer with La Familia, a heavy-hitter nonprofit in the East Bay Area, Jennifer Ellis has met the COVID-19 pandemic head on and emphasized staff engagement with every agency-sustaining decision. Jennifer is able to size-up situations quickly and accurately and creates space for others to co-create and co-own a solution. Often asked to present or serve on advisory boards, Jennifer is fiercely committed to helping both staff and program participants see themselves as change agents and credits her organizational development, program design, and grant writing skills as crucial to helping her change small corners of the world over her last 13 years in the nonprofit sector.

Jennifer balances the intensity she brings to her work with frequent hikes and visits to her favorite local coffee shop and farmers’ market.
