Nirvana Farhadi, RegTech Pioneer, Expert, Thought Leader, Author (Senior Advisory Board Member FSG, Grant Thornton UK LLP) Nirvana is a thought leader, pioneer, author, keynote speaker, and recognized global expert in the Regulatory Technology (“RegTech”) sector. But most of all she is a teacher and advocate for humane ethical technology, and ensuring that compliance by design is embedded at the development stage of technology to mitigate risk.
She spent 20 years on “the dark side” aka in Financial Services, and has a background in legal and compliance, operations, audit and risk, working across different sectors and jurisdictions. She has served as a regulatory expert to various regulatory bodies and institutions. In her previous role as Global Head of financial services RegTech, Risk & Regulatory Compliance Affairs for Hitachi, she has developed, built, advised on multiple RegTech solutions, in areas such as GDPR, California Privacy Act, regulatory reporting, AML, Data Governance, and Operational Resilience to name a few.
She has advised as a key expert to ESMA on the Technical Standards of MiFID I, advised as a key expert on the European Commissions Study on impact of RegTech solutions. Nirvana is also an expert in disruptive technologies. She advises businesses on topics such as Al, ML, blockchain, loT, and Cloud. She sits on the board of four RegTech startups across Financial Services, Healthcare, and Real Estate.
