Barney Gomez has been IT for 30 plus years. He started out his career as a Help Desk Technician. He then promoted into Desktop Support, Network Server Administration and then into Network Engineering for Local and Wide Area Networks.
He has experience in managing various disciplines within IT operations including Data Centers. Over the last 12 years, Barney has served as Chief Technology Officer and/or Chief Information Officer for various state offices within the state California. He has been with the state of California for the last 25 years.
Barney is passionate about information technology and his work as a public servant. He consistenly is exploring new technologies, especially in the area of Cybersecurity. He truly enjoys working in the public sector serving the constituents of California.
