Pat Richards is the Director of Partner Engineering at VMware. Her team works with technical partners to build extensions and applications on VMware’s platforms. She has worked in various roles in Engineering throughout her career. From hardware design and firmware development to developing EDA software to working with technical partners to leading software development and technical program management teams.
She has worked in start-ups, medium corporations and large corporations. Soon after earning her BS in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, she headed out to Silicon Valley.
She earned her MS in CSEE from Santa Clara University part-time while working full- time. Her passion is keeping women in technology and volunteers with the Society of Women Engineers and Thrive-WiSE. She has a special technical interest in Cyber Security.
