Irene Agodoa, M.D., is senior vice president, medical affairs for Orca Bio. Dr. Agodoa joined Orca Bio in 2022 and brings 20 years of experience in health care, including 17 years as a physician executive in the biotechnology & pharmaceutical industry.

Previously, Irene was Vice President, Medical Affairs and Program Team Leader, GBT601 at Global Blood Therapeutics where she was a key contributor to the advancement of voxelotor for sickle cell disease and also led the development of next generation molecule GBT601. Prior, she was the senior director, medical advocacy in Medical Affairs at Sanofi.

Her experience also includes ten years at Amgen, where she held various leadership roles in clinical development, medical affairs and global value, access and policy. Irene earned her MD degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from The Ohio State University. She has published more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
